Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how DrawRing: Chain Drawing ("App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information. The App is provided by Justin Sun, an independent developer based in Georgia, United States.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We believe in data minimization. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or physical location. However, to make the App function, we must collect certain technical data.
A. Automatically Collected Information
When you use the App, we automatically collect:
- Device Identifiers: We use a unique identifier tied to your device or installation (such as an Apple Vendor ID or a generated UUID) to create your anonymous account. This allows you to "log in" automatically without a password.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymous data about how you interact with the App, such as button taps, session length, and crash logs, to help us improve the App's stability.
B. User-Generated Content
- Drawings: Any artwork you create or contribute to is stored on our servers so it can be shared with your chosen collaborators.
- Chain Data: We store the metadata of drawing chains (e.g., who participated, timestamps, and prompts).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To Provide the Service: Your Device ID is used to authenticate you and retrieve your drawing history and active chains.
- To Facilitate Collaboration: Your drawings are processed and stored to allow other users with the correct invite code to view and add to them.
- Safety & Moderation: We use Device IDs to enforce our Terms of Service. If a user is reported for posting abusive content, we use their Device ID to block them from the service.
- App Improvement: Crash logs and usage data help us fix bugs and improve performance.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We only share information in the following limited circumstances:
- With Other Users: When you contribute to a Drawing Chain, your drawing is visible to other participants in that specific chain.
- Service Providers: We may use third-party cloud services (such as Google Firebase or Apple CloudKit) to host our servers, databases, and images. These providers have access to your data only to perform tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for other purposes.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
4. Data Retention
- Drawings: We retain your drawings and chain data for as long as necessary to provide the service.
- Anonymous Accounts: Since accounts are not tied to an email, your account remains active on our servers until you request deletion or the data is purged due to inactivity.
Important: If you delete the App from your device, you will lose your local access key (Device ID). Because we do not have your email or name, we cannot link you back to your old account, and your data effectively becomes inaccessible to you ("orphaned").
5. Your Rights & Account Deletion
For iOS Users (Apple Requirement)
You have the right to delete your data. Because your account is anonymous:
- In-App Deletion: If available, use the "Delete Account" button in the App settings to permanently remove your data from our servers.
- Manual Request: If you cannot access the App, please contact us at js_inquiries@gmail.com. Note that because we do not collect emails, we may require specific proof (such as your User ID string, if you saved it) to locate and delete your data.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for use by children ages 4 and up. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 4. If we discover that a child under 4 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
7. Security
We value your trust in providing us your information and we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
